TATSU DO KARATE Kyu (colored belt student) training includes 16 kata. Since Soke Cavalier trained in a number of different martial arts, Tatsu Do includes kata from Shotokan, Chito Ryu, Shorei Ryu, Shorin Ryu as well as 3 Soke Cavalier's own Tatsu Do kata. (There are 5 more Soke's kata in the Dan (black belt) ranks. The kata vidoes on this page are intended to illustrate the progression of skill from the very first kata learned (27 Movements) to the last kyu kata before the rank of 1st Degree Black Belt. During the Black Belt test, most students are able to go through all the kata below in succession, in about 30-45 minutes. Perfoming the kata in the videos is Hanshi Tomas Roztocil, 9th Dan in Karate, Soke Cavalier's senior student.
