TATSU DO offers classes for adults and children in all areas martial arts instruction. Classes range from basic karate, including all types of self-defense, Aiki Jutsu, Ju Jutsu and traditional oriental weapons, including traditional Japanese sword. Safety is a component of our training and is always enforced. There are many benefits of learning karate and participants of all age can enjoy them.

Tatsu Do Karate Karate for kids Self Defense
Beginners in TATSU DO Karate will learn striking hand techniques, kicks and blocks and will practice self-defense and free style sparring. Advanced students are also introduced to the use of oriental weapons, bo and sai. For advanced students, training incorporates Ju Jutsu and Aiki Jutsu techniques. All students will learn to:
  • Exercise, warm up and stretch
  • Master all basic kicks, strikes, punches, blocks and stances
  • Defend against attacks and weapons

TATSU DO has programs for children 4 years old & up. The Little Dragons curicullum is for the yungest students and makes learning Karate fun while learning discipline and self defense.

Our Junior program is typically for children 7-15. It is a scaled down version of the adult program, allowing the Juniors to eventually achieve a full Black Belt rank.

Our program specifically teaches "Anti-Bullying" tactics and defense techniques. This is our solution to the ever-increasing bullying going on in schools.

All martial arts were always intended for self defense. Students of TATSU DO will learn how to disable unarmed as well as armed attackers. Examples of self defense:
  • Block a punch attack & counter defense
  • Defend against all types of grabs & choke attacks
  • Block and counter against weapons, club, knife, gun, chain
  • Defend from prone position on the ground, escape from being pinned down
  • Defend against multiple attackers
  • Avoiding confrontations, how to deal with a "bully"
